Lenten Luncheons (Feb 26-Apr 8)

A citywide Lenten lunch is being held throughout the season of Lent at the First Baptist Church’s multipurpose building from February 26 through April 8. Lunch begins at 11:45 and the singing and message are over before 1:00 so those needing to return to work may do so. The lunches are sponsored by the Ministerial Alliance as a fundraiser as donations are taken each Wednesday. The different congregations take turns supplying the food. The opening luncheon for this year had about 115 in attendance. What a blessing to get to fellowship with all the different congregations over a delicious meal! All are welcome to join in.

Church Activities

Sunday School
We have classes for all ages including 3 adult classes at 9:45.

Elementary After School Program
During the school year we have an elementary after school program that meets on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5:00. We pick children up at Junction Elementary School

Middle School and High School
Meet Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:30 for food, fellowship and fun

Presbyterian Women
Our Presbyterian Women have circle meetings at 9:45 on the second Tuesday of each month September through May.

Men’s Breakfast
Men of the church meet the first Saturday of each month for food, fellowship, prayer and devotion. Breakfast starts at 8:00.

Fellowship Groups
Various times throughout the year we have groups meeting for Bible study, prayer, picnics, meals, games and other fellowship activities.

Chancel Choir
Our Chancel Choir meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 for practice.

Bell Choir
The bell ringers play for special occasions throughout the year.

Community Involvement
We are actively involved in the Junction Ministerial Alliance and participate in the Lenten Luncheons, Community Hymn Sing, Community Thanksgiving Service, the Easter Cantata, and the Christmas Cantata.
